Meet
Robert Asencio

Robert Asencio is a lifelong public servant, veteran of the US Army Reserves, and a proven community advocate dedicated to improving our neighborhoods and helping our children thrive.

After serving as a police officer in the Miami-Dade Public School system for over 25 years, Robert was elected to the Florida House of Representatives. In Tallahassee, Robert was a leader on programs to reduce violence among at-risk youth in our community, and supported Spanish-language television production to increase civic awareness among Miami’s hispanic populations.

As a legislator, Robert proved that he could work across the aisle to deliver results. As a Freshmen, Robert sponsored a staggering 11 bills-all which have been signed into law- ranging from healthcare to consumer protection and public safety.

Robert’s running for the County Commission to bring that can-do spirit to County Hall, where he will work to deliver meaningful results for our community on issues such as housing affordability, transportation, and public safety.
